Zoop
Zoop was conceived as a dedicated business-side application within the Walkabout ecosystem. While Walkabout served residents, Zoop was designed specifically for local businesses to manage check-ins, rewards, events, and performance insights.

Designed a B2B companion app for Walkabout, enabling local businesses to manage participation, rewards, and events within the ecosystem. Although the product remained in prototype stage and was scheduled for execution in 2025, the full product design, flows, and system logic were completed and validated internally prior to my departure.

The Problem
Local businesses needed structured tools to manage incentives, engagement, and performance within the Walkabout ecosystem.
Real-time check-in validation
Reward redemption management
Event hosting controls
Visibility into customer participation
Simple campaign management
Zoop extended Walkabout from a consumer app into a two-sided marketplace platform.
As Walkabout scaled resident adoption and onboarded 50+ local businesses, operational friction emerged:
- Businesses lacked visibility into reward redemptions
- Manual validation created inefficiencies
- Event participation tracking required internal coordination
- Store partners needed performance insights
Walkabout was becoming a two-sided marketplace, but only one side had product tooling.
Zoop was designed to close that gap.
My Role & Scope
Led full product definition, system design, and prototype execution for a business-facing ecosystem app.
This required balancing simplicity for non-technical store owners with robust backend capabilities.
Product Design Approach
Built a structured, operationally efficient system while keeping cognitive load low for business users.
Zoop was intentionally lightweight in interaction but powerful in capability.

Infrastructure Thinking Precedes Scale
Zoop reinforced that backend logic, permission systems, and validation flows must be defined before growth accelerates. Designing this app required mapping edge cases, role-based access, and scalable workflows even before launch.
Designing for Non-Tech-Savvy Users Requires Constraint
Many local business owners are not digitally native. Simplicity, clear action states, and minimal training dependency became core UX principles.
Designed and built in Figma using Auto Layout, Figma Make, and Figma Sites — completed in one week.
